From my studio at Pateley Bridge, I sell a selection of gifts alongside my artwork. I also run courses on all the techniques I use so please contact me for details (by pressing the link at the bottom of this page).

On the 4th December 2009 I opened a workshop/gallery space at The Old Workhouse in Pateley Bridge. This was something I had been looking forward to for a long time and didn’t really believe was happening till I had the keys.

It was lucky to be open on time to say the least…

The day I picked up the keys I went out to lunch to celebrate. As I was eying up the mint crisps that were next to the coffeepot the waitress caught the top of the cafetiere, knocked the lid off and covered me in boiling coffee. Painful, and with a bright red right hand extremely worrying. After many trips to casualty and the doctors I thought I was over the worst and could concentrate on the workshop. However, one week exactly before opening I was in an ambulance, been rushed to Harrogate hospital, unable to breathe. It turned out to be a chest infection and after a few more asthma attacks and some oxygen I was out of hospital and told not to do anything until the opening on Friday. I didn’t do anything and consequently was able to successfully start the business.
