These felt flower pieces were inspired by old horticultural books from the 1960’s. I love the simplification in the prints and thought it would translate well into felt. The pictures often had a symmetry which is aesthetically pleasing.
There is a close up photograph of the beadwork and embroidery. I find this evolves naturally whilst I am working at the piece, following the contours created by the teased out wool fibres.
